Canton, IL - Viola Helen (Williams) Gaskill, 98, formerly of 232 W. Chestnut St., passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.

Viola was born on June 14, 1911 in Brereton, the daughter of John Ernest and Lucy J. (Libby) Williams. She married William "Bill" Henry Gaskill on December 14, 1929 in Burlington, Iowa. He died October 26, 1993.

Surviving are one daughter, Jane (Dan) Walter; one son, Ronald (Norma) Gaskill; six grandchildren, Kevin (Tania) Walter, Brian Walter, Adam Walter, Tina (Eric) Hinchman, Terry Gaskill and Tammy Gaskill; two great grandchildren, Hope Walter and Zachary Gaskill; and one sister, Josephine Fish.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers; and nine sisters.

Viola had previously worked at Denney Cleaners and the Tiny Tot Shop.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
