Susan Elizabeth "Susie" Jordan Pearce was born 25 May 1902 in Arcadia, Bienville Parish, Louisiana, the fourth of twelve children born to Viola Bailey b 13 Mar 1875 d 02 Jan 1964, the daughter of Sgt. William Hopkins Bailey b 1839 d 1919 and Susan Elizabeth "Susie" Turner b 1848 d 1880, and, James Rogers "Jim" Jordan b 13 Oct 1873 d 26 Aug 1951, the son of Mabel Jeanette Johnson b 1846 d 1937 and John Henderson "Henry" Jordan b 1842 d 1886.

On 16 Aug 1923 Susie married James Wylie Pearce, Jr. b 03 Mar 1898 d 04 Jun 1963, the 10th of 12 children born, only 7 lived to be adults, to Margaret Ann "Maggie" Lee b 13 Oct 1857 d 11 Nov 1938 and James Wylie Pearce, Sr. b 03 Jun 1855 d 26 Jun 1902.

Susie and Wiley led a very full life moving to the oil fields and then settling in Kilgore, Texas where they lived until Wiley's death in 1963. After Wiley's death, Susie moved to Arcadia, Louisiana where her family was. She lived there until her death on 26 Feb 1972.
