On April 4, 1930 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana, he married Martel Crump. She was the daughter of Adella "Della" Josephine Craighead and Henry Cranford Crump. To this union the following children were born: Tom Lynn, Jean DeLane, Anna Nell and Dorothy Dell (stillborn twins), and Reves Wayne.
