Olga Brandenburg, 84 Luverne, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in Good Samaritan Village, Sioux Falls, SD. She was the mother of international renowned photographer, Jim Brandenburg.

Services were Thursday, Dec. 23, in Grace Lutheran Church, Luverne. The Revs. Dell Sanderson and Maurice E. Hagen officiated. Burial was in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Luverne.

Olga Olivia Aanenson was born to Ole and Otelia Aanenson on Sept. 10, 1915, on the family farm near Luverne, She attended country school in Rock county.

She married Edward Brandenburg on March 19, 1939, in Luverne. The couple made their home on a farm near Luverne. In 1949 they moved to Luverne where she and her sister Alfie, operated the Coffee Shop. She and her husband purchased the Cozy Rest Motel in 1960 and operated it for 20 years. They retired and spent their time traveling and fishing. The couple moved to Sioux Falls in 1998 to be closer to their daughter.

Mrs. Brandenburg was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne and had been active in Circle.

Survivors include her husband, Edward, Luverne; one son and daughter-in -law, Jim and Judy Brandenburg, Ely; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bill Stanton, Sioux Falls; five grandchildren, Julie (Jeff) Dring, Robert (Mary Carlson) Stanton, Daniel Stanton, Heidi (Brett) Ross and Anthony Donnielle Mondello) Brandenburg; two great grandchildren, Olivia Ross and Lindsey Brandenburg; four brothers, Orville Aanenson, Norman (Ellen) Aanenson, all of Luverne, Gordon (Gloria) Aanenson, Kanaranzi, and Howard (Lavanelle) Aanenson, Pipestone: five sisters, Alfie Brandenburg, Alma Ellsworth, both of Luverne, Ramona Skidmore, Minneapolis, Orla Powell, Fairfax, VA., and JoAnn Barmore, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Mrs. Brandenburg was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister and two sisters, Thelma Bonnett and Norma Zimmerman.

Engebretson Funeral Home, Luverne, was in charge of arrangements.
