Son of George and Matilda Kepley Beck and was a resident of Davidson County all his life. Prior to retiring, he was engaged in landscaping and farming. He was a chartered member of Grace Lutheran Church, a member of the Lutheran Men, a chartered member of the Augsburg Sunday School class, had served on the church council and was a former member of the church choir. On December 25, 1912, he married Etta Eugenia Wood. She died June 10, 1961. On March 24, 1965, he married Mrs. Maude Kennedy Cecil. She died June 27, 1975.
