GREENSBORO - Mr. George Franklin Beck, 87, died on Thursday, September 11, 2008, at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, at Grace Lutheran Church in Thomasville. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Beck was born in Davidson Co., on March 21, 1921, to the late Junius and Etta Wood Beck. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II and retired as a manager with Beaman Corp. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by five siblings. (Survivors omitted for privacy) The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight, Saturday, at Forbis & Dick Funeral Home in Pleasant Garden and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 115 Unity Street, Thomasville, NC 27360.
