Frederick A Rabe

Frederick A. Rabe, 91, of 834 Third St., Kiel, died Monday evening, Aug 7, 2000 at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton, where he was a patient the past six days.
He was born March 5, 1909 in the town of Schleswig, a son of the late August and Caroline Schnell Rabe. He attended Hillside Grove School in the town of Schleswig. On Sept. 22, 1934, he married Irma Buchman at Reform church Kiel. She preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 1985. Frederick worked at Laun Furniture Co. in Kiel, retiring in 1974 and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel.
Survivors include one son, Freddie "Butch" (Sue) Rabe of Kiel; one daughter, Lillian (David) Matthies of Kiel; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Alfon Rabe of Kiel and Ruben (Anna) Rabe of New Holstein; two sisters, Florence (Herman) Binversie of Kiel and Dorothy (Eldon) Fluhr of Kiel; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Francis Wagner, Betty Rabe, Hazel Kattre, Shirley (Donald) Schlechting, Ellsworth (Veronica) Buchman, Elmer Buchman and Laura Jaschob. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Private funeral services were held at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home in Kiel, with the Rev. David Laabs, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in the Kiel City Cemetery.
