Eleanor Harriet Miles Jamison was the daughter of Thomas Braly Miles and Elizabeth Smith Waring. Born on December 15, 1849, she educated in local schools. She married John Wilson Jamison (1839-1886)in 1873. They were the parents of the following children: Scott Miles Jamison (1874-1948), Elizabeth Miles Jamison (1876-1941), Caroline Jenkins Jamison (1878-1964), David Flavel Jamison (1880-1963) and John Wilson Jamison (1883-1963) She and her husband had a very happy marriage. She was a devoted mother and her children recounted that she was very kind and gentle. When her husband died in 1886 she raised her children alone. She died in 1899 at the age of 49.
