Caroline was a secretary and also a school teacher for many years. In the late 1930's she opened her own business, "The Gift Shop", in Summerville, SC which she operated successfully until shortly before her death in 1964.
Caroline was faithful member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church all of her life. She was a member of the Daughters of the King also of the choir.
Although Caroline never herself married, she helped raise her niece and nephews and was cheerfully involved with her family. She was also a member of the South Carolina Businesswoman's Association. She is laid to rest in St. Paul's Cemetery, next to her brother Scott and nephew David Jamison.
