Scott Miles Jamison was the eldest son of John Wilson Jamison and Eleanor Harriett Miles. Scott received his early education from his father who was a teacher. His father died when he was 11 and his mother struggled on supporting the family until she died at the age of 49.

Scott lived all of his life in Summerville, SC. When he was a very small child he was afflicted with a disease which effected his extremities. He had difficulty walking and remained an invalid all of his life. He was supported by his two sisters Elizabeth and Caroline until he died in 1948 of a bowel obstruction. He seemed to have been good natured soul. He is buried in the Jamison plot at St. Paul's Episcopal Churchyard.
