Mr. Avey was for years a member of the Otterbein United Brethren Church os Waynesboro, and was widely known and generally liked throughout this community. Many old friends and associates will miss his geniality and and kindly interest in their welfare.
The following children survive: Charles A. Avey, Waynesboro, Harry J. Avey, Minerva, Ohio.

The body of Samuel Avey, an aged veteran of the Civil War and resident of Waynesboro for many years, who died Monday morning at Dayton, Ohio was brought here last evening and taken to the undertaking parlors of F. E. Grove South Church Street. From there services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock in charge of Rev. J A. Poffenberger, pastor of the Church of Christ. Burial
will be made in Green Hill Cemetery.
