He was a former resident of Waynesboro and had been employed for many years at the Geiser Manufacturing Company. He had made his home with his son, Max S. Avey, 305 Salisbury Avenue, Sparrows Point, Md.
He was born in Franklin County the son of Samuel and Nancy (Roberson) Avey.
Surviving are these children; William T. and Miss Hilda Avey, New Kensington; Mrs. Jesse K. Gunder, Altoona; Mrs. Ruth Gable, Washington and Max S. Baltimore.
Funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Grove Funeral Home. Interment will be made in Green Hill Cemetery.
