Mrs. Avey had been ill only four days and hear death came as a severe shock to her husband and the entire community. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran church .
Mrs. Sarah Avey was born in Washington County, Md., the daughter of George & Catherine Figley Wise . She married her surviving husband in Hagerstown about 18 years ago and moved here with him immediately afterwards, where they have lived ever since.
Surviving are her husband and one brother and sister as follows: George Wise, Iowa, and Mrs. Katie King , Waynesboro .
Funeral service were held in the Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. Dr. J. M. Francis, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, interment in Green Hill Cemetery.
