Benajah Merle Allen was born on March 29, 1849, in New Albany, Pennsylvania, to Barton and Zeruah Allen. A farmer and auctioneer, he married Mariah Yetter (see below) and they had five children together;
Leonard, Frank, Marcha, Julia, and Tracy.
After the death of his first wife, he married Lydia Jackson.
Benajah died on November 25, 1924, in his hometown at the age of 75, and was buried there.

Mariah Yetter was born in June of 1847, in Monroe, Pennsylvania, to Gabriel, then 29, and Anna, 28. Mariah married Benajah Merle Allen in around 1867. They had five children during their 13 year marriage, until her death sometime after 1880. Unfortunately, her burial site is yet unknown.
There is a possibility that she may have been in the hospital and died there. She would have been buried somewhere in Towanda. This is speculation at this time, based on an educated guess. Information will be updated as it becomes available.
Mariah also had five brothers and three sisters; Joseph, Frank, Elmiron, Jacob, William, Mary Ann, Almira, and Sarah.
