Lydia was the step-mother to Benajah’s children. As she did not have family of her own, she went to live with John Rhodes Allen after Ben’s death in 1924. After John’s death in 1932, Warren Allen went to Bradford Co. to get her and she lived her life out on Briggs & Allen Rd. at the family farm in Candor, NY.

MRS. B. J. ALLEN
Mrs. Lydia Allen, widow of B. J. Allen, died on Monday afternoon, Oct. 16, at the home of her nephew, Warren Allen, near Strait's Corners.
Her funeral was held on last Thursday afternoon at the Crossroads Church at New Albany, Pa. Burial in a cemetery at New Albany.
Besides her nephew, she leaves one (step) daughter, Mrs. Julia Palmer of Columbia Crossroads, Pa.; and two step-sons, Frank Allen of Columbia Crossroads, and Tracy Allen of Carbondale, Pa.
Funeral services were conducted at the Evergreen Church by Rev. Randomly Sincebaugh.
Bearers were Irvin Merrifield, Ezra Johnson, Neil Allen,
and Spice Hibbard.
