Joyce Nadine Lee Davis died Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at her home in Clovis, NM at the age of 77. She was born on February 2, 1932, in Oklahoma Lane, TX to Pearl A. Lee and Willie McCollom Lee. She lived there until she was in the 5th grade, when she moved to Clovis.
She was married to Joe Roy Davis on August 30, 1949. They celebrated their 60th anniversary this year. She worked as a telephone operator, and later as a bookkeeper at Lawn Haven, TE Agri Supply, and WT Dentons. She was a long time faithful member of West 21st Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband Joe Roy of the home; two sons Roy of Farmington, NM and Wayne (Rhonda) of Blackwell, TX; two daughters Donna Doolittle (Tommy) of Broadview, NM and Karen Burns (Greg) of Clovis, NM; two brothers, Ed Lee and Joe Lee; four sisters Angie Stanley, Alpha Everly, Alma Yawn, and Dora Stout; 8 grandchildren Trent Doolittle, Shayla Slatunas, Cory Burns, Kyle Burns, Trey Burns, Melissa Glade, Christopher Davis, and Brittany Leverett; 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Lee and Avon Lee; and two sisters, Lahoma Lee and Gracie Rose.
Closed casket services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at West 21st Street Church of Christ, officiated by Cory Burns, Lupe Naceanceno and Larry Tittle, with graveside services to follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends and relatives may pay their respects at Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Trent Doolittle, Cory Burns, Kyle Burns, Trey Burns, Christopher Davis, Tim Slatunas and Michael Glade.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PRMC Home Health Care/Hospice at 2217 Dillon Street Clovis, NM 88101, New Mexico Christian Children's Home, 1356 New Mexico 236, Portales, NM 88130, or to a charity of your choice.
