Will was the second son of Millege Brittan Braly and Frances Elizabeth Landman Braly born in Rogersville, Lauderdale County, Alabama. He was raised on the family farm near Rogersville, Lauderdale, Alabama and moved as a young adult to North Texas.

Will supplemented his farming income by barbering in Bomarton Community, Baylor County.
He married Mary Almeda Elliott (also a transplant from Alabama) in 1897 in New Harp, Montague, Texas. They had 5 daughters Annie Della; Bonnie L.; Elsie B. ; Audie Mae; Ora Belle; and two sons - R. Loyd & William Franklin Jr.

The four oldest all died in 1906 in Baylor County. Will and young Will died
died as result of world-wide Spanish Influenza Epidemic during WWI.
The four Braly children who died during 1906 are all buried under one tombstone in Cache Creek Cemetery, Seymour, Baylor County, Texas

Will and Will Jr. are buried in New Harp Cemetery, Montague County Texas. His widow, Mary Almeda Elliott Braly is buried beside their daughter, Ora Belle - wife of Manual Truman Smith, in Elizabeth Cemetery west of Roanoke in Denton County, Texas.
