Will and Mary married in 1897 in New Harp, Montague County and within a few years moved west to Baylor County to raise cotton. In the Cache Creek Community of Baylor County they lost four children in 1906 - Annie D; Bonnie L; Elsie B; and R. Loyd.
Ora Belle was born on the Baylor County farm. During World War I - the world-wide epidemic of Spanish Influenza swept the globe with tragic results. The two-year old son of Will & Mary succumbed, followed by the death of Will Franklin Braly, his father.
Mary Elliott Braly returned to Wise County, to be nearer her family, and raised her daughters alone. She never remarried, and was living with Ora Belle and husband, Manuel Truman Smith at the time of her death.
Ora Belle and M. Truman had three children:
1) Gordon Truman Smith 1935-
2) Ora C. Smith 1938-
3) Nelda Jean Smith 1950-1950
The Smiths are both buried in Elizabethtown Cemetery, Roanoke,Denton County, Texas
