Audie Mae Braly McDaniel was born near New Harp, Montague, Texas to William Franklin Braly (1869-1918) and Mary Almeda Elliott (1878-1930). Her father and baby brother, Wm. Franklin, Jr. both died in the Spanish Influenza Epidemic which swept the world in 1918 - and both are buried in New Harp Cemetery. Three older sisters and an older brother were all buried in Baylor County during the year 1906 before the family moved back to Wise/Montague County. Her Mother, Mary Almeda Elliott Braly, is buried in Elizabeth Cemetery, near Roanoke, in Denton County, Texas. Her Braly grandparents are also buried at New Harp and her Elliott grandparents are buried in the Cottonwood Cemetery several miles east and south but within Wise County

Audie Mae married Bedford Forrest McDaniel in Montague County, Texas and their only son was born, James William, Jim Bill, McDaniel (1941-1986). All three are buried at the Alvord Cemetery, Wise County, Texas.
