Mrs. Ada Bell Smith, age 92 of Lawrenceburg passed away May 23 at Lewis County Hospital following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Alford and Nerva Stafford McClure and the wife of the late Spencer C.A. Smith, Sr. She was a native of Giles County, a housewife and a member of the Center Grove Church of God.
Services were held May 27 at 2: p.m. at the Center Grove Church of God with Brother Jack Cates and Brother Gale Harris officiating. Burial was in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery. North Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Lucille Jones of Nashville, Tn., Mrs. Lorene Powell of Summertown, Mrs. Magilene Gobble of Leoma, Mrs. Lila Mae Price of Cloverdale, Al., Mrs. Christine Hobbs, Mrs. Jerri Noblit and Mrs. Nancy Self all of Lawrenceburg; five sons, Lloyd Smith, Buddy Smith, Finis A. Smith, C.A. Smith all of Louisville, Ky. and Warren Smith of Fort Lauderdale, Fl.; one brother Marvin McClure of Giles County; two sisters, Mrs. Ura Hobbs and Mrs. Mable Butler both of Giles County. Several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren also survive.
