Mr. Deamon "Buddy" Alonzo Smith, age 88, of Okolona returned to his Heavenly Father on July 26, 2021. Mr. Smith was born on May 28, 1933 in Giles County, Tennessee to the late Spencer C.A. and Ada (McClure) Smith. He was the owner of Chappell Movers since 1962 and continued to work until 2019. He touched the lives of all who knew him, and he made everyone feel like family. Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, wife, Eva Delores (Bryant) Smith; and 7 siblings. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and siblings. Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Monday, August 2, 2021 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 1-8 pm and Monday from 9 am until time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association
