John W Roberson, son of Benjamin and Emogene Roberson, was born near Pontiac, Livingston County, Illinois, July 12, 1870; died at Parsons, Kans., Aug 30, 1922 aged 52 years, 1 month and 18 days.
When a small boy he moved with his parents to Coffey County, Kansas when they resided four years, then moved to Burr Oak, Kans., where he spent the remainder of his life. He was married to Minnie Kiehl, Feb 22, 1899 and to this union were born three children, Freda, Loren and Ruth.
John was a hard-working and honest man. He was respected by his neighbors, loving his home surroundings best and caring not to mingle with the outside world. He was a good husband, a loving father and brother, a dutiful son, a man with many friends, one that will be missed by all who knew him.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife and three children, his mother, Mrs Collins, one brother, Fred E Robertson of Yamhill, Ore., a sister Ethel Heglin of Burr Oak, Kans. and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the M E church, Burr Oak, Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev W A Smith of Wesley Center assisted by Rev T H Parrott of Burr Oak and burial was made in the Burr Oak Cemetery.
