Born in Clinton Twp., Lycoming County, PA, on Saturday, September 10, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Olive (Seid) Barto.
Mazie was the widow of Charles W. Miller who preceded her in death on March 2, 1983.
Mazie was a 1941 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School. She was employed as an assistant manager by the former Antlers Country Club at Williamsport, retiring in 1983.
She was a member of the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church at Montgomery, PA. Mazie loved flowers and gardening and enjoyed reading. She could find the beauty in everything.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra L. and Ronald Bartlow, Montgomery, PA; Deborah C. and Dorlan Books, South Williamsport, PA; four grandchildren, Brian Bartlow; Lisa Gray; Jillian Books; Vicki Nunan; two sisters, Catherine LaForme, Montgomery, PA; Helen Kreppenneck, Montgomery, PA. Mazie is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mazie was preceded in death by six brothers, Calvin, Carl, Charles, Ralph, Paul and Arthur Barto and three sisters, Jean Louise Barto, Lois Barto and Clara Umpstead.
Funeral services will be conducted from the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church, 196 Brick Church Road, Montgomery, PA at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, March 16, 2012 with Reverend MarthaSue Moll, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 12:30 - 1:30 P.M. at the church. Arrangements are being handled by the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, PA.
