Services for James Everett Middleton, 67, who died August 7th at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., were held August 9ther at 1 p.m. in the Dean Funeral Home in Caruthersville with the Rev. John Bell officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery.
He was born October 21st, 1907 in Tom Nolen, Miss., the son of the late James T. and Dollie A. McCain Middleton. He was a compress worker for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Opal Lucas; three sons, Billy Jean Middleton of Hazel Green, Ala., and James W. and Terry Middleton, both of Caruthersville; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Hatley, Peggy Hooker, Helen Cummings, and Robert Robertson, all of Caruthersville; four sisters, Lorene Fleming of Sunflower, Miss., and Mrs. Minnie Coleman, Ola Powell, and Margie Erwin, all of Hayti; three brothers, Tess Middleton of Caruthersville, Thomas Middleton of Hayti, and J.T. Middleton of Weldon, Ill., 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
