Funeral services for Roy Middleton, 51, who died in the Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., March 6th were held Friday at 3 p.m. in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Hart officiating. Burial was in Maple Cemetery.
He was born August 30, 1922 in Duckhill, Miss., the son of Mrs. Dollie Middleton and the late Tom H. Middleton. He attended the Cooter schools.
On December 23, 1950, he married Miss Wanda Lee Hooper in Piggott, Ark. He was a former employe of the Missouri Wire Bound Box Factory Inc.
Survivors include three sons, Roy Eugene Middleton of Jacksonville, Fla., and Charles Ray and Joseph Wayne Middleton, both of Caruthersville; one daughter, Mrs. Jane Perrydore of Caruthersville; his mother of Caruthersville; four brothers, James and Thomas Middleton of Caruthersville, J.T. Middleton of Weldon, Ill., and Tess Middleton of Benton Harbor, Mich.; four sisters, Mrs. Ola Wimberley of Caruthersville, Mrs. Margie Ervin and Mrs. Minnie Coleman, both of Hayti, and Mrs. Lorene Fleemings of Sunflower, Miss.; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Butch Stateler, Charles Dodson, Doyle Middleton, Joe Middleton, Roy Wayne Hooper, and Marvin Wade.
