Alvin Eugene Collins, born September 9, 1926, in Preston, Oklahoma to Mack Moore Collins and Clara Willerton Collins. Died June 28, 2004, at his home in Wilburton, OK at the age of 77. He married his childhood sweetheart, Doris Ann Bethel, in Sapulpa, OK. on May 20, 1947, after serving in the Army during WWII. He worked in the oil/gas fields, eventually working his way to being Field Foreman. He loved to fish and support the Oklahoma University football games. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Ann; three children and spouses, Sue Ann Collins Pattison and husband Robert; Judy Kay Collins Jones and husband Jim; and John Henry Collins and wife Susan. Also, grandchildren Amy Pattison Root and husband Ben; Laura Pattison Folland and husband John; Jennifer Kay Jones Walker and husband Troy; Jason Collins and wife, Christie and Jennifer Collins. Also, great-grandchildren, Bobby and Elizabeth Root; and John Walter Collins. He is also survived by two brothers, Richard Collins and LaVernon Collins and sisters-in-law, Vera Baker, Betty Swearingen and Marianne Collins. Services were held at Centerpoint Baptist Church in Wilburton with Randy Waldrop officiating. Interment was in Baldwin Cemetery with the following pallbearers: Jason Collins, Mark Hudson, Jack Baker, Troy Walker, Jim Holly, and Richard Mitchell.
