Richard Mack Collins was born in Preston, Oklahoma on November 9, 1924. His parents were Mack M. and Clara Willerton Collins. Rip passed away at his home surrounded by family on Saturday, January 16, 2016. He was 91.

He grew up and was educated in the area of his birth and graduated from Beggs High School. He served his country in the Navy and then returned to Beggs. He and Bodgie Lunnon married and became proud parents to daughters, Drinda and Lunna. Rip was a devoted dad, making it a priority to be fully involved with his girls and their activities—a familiar face around the Sequoyah School campus while the Collins girls were students.

Rip was not only committed to family, but he also devoted himself to work in his church. He served at First Baptist Church as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher and a choir member. When there was time for pleasure, he enjoyed fishing, woodworking and yard work.

Rip was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. Family members who survive are his daughters and sons-in-law, Drinda Collins and Del Janzen of Tulsa and Lunna Ward and Wes of Claremore, grandchildren and great grandchildren and a brother, La Vernon Collins and Marianne of Piedmont.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2016 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow.

Services under the direction of Rice Funeral Service, Claremore, Oklahoma.
