Mrs. Florence Dee Myrtle Jones, 88, of Benton, Ky., formerly of Caruthersville, died Nov. 16, 1993 at her home. Born Feb. 1, 1905 in Trenton, Tenn., she was the daughter of Nellie Monroe and Mollie Eugene Young Alford. She was a housewife and the widow of William "Shorty" Harvey Jones. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Alice Jones Hoss of Benton; A sister, Martha Terrett of Hayti; A brother, Albert Alford of Mooresville, Ind.; A son-in-law, Lloyd V. Hoss Sr. of Benton; A daughter-in-law, Rosa Lee Rushing Jones of Orange, Calif.; Six grandchildren, Charles Edward Jones Jr. of Orange, Faye Florea of Irvin, Calif., Sandra Hoss Bagwell of Lexington, Ky., Mildren Hoss Tyler of Belton, Mo., Charles W. Hoss of Winfield, Mo., and Lloyd V. Hoss Jr. of Benton; Eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Edward Jones.
Services were Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, the Rev. Ira Singleton officiating, with burial in Little Prairie Cemetery, Dean Funeral Home of Caruthersville in charge.
Pallbearers were Darryl Roberts, Lonnie Cagle, Charlie Jones, Earl Bullington, John Gale, Eulis Clayton, Buck Ferrell and Lavanda White.
