Mrs. Johnson died Jan. 25, 1983 in the Delta Community Hospital in Sikeston at the age of 79.
The daughter of the late Nellie Monroe and Mollie Alford, she was born Dec. 7 1903 at Eaton, Tenn.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Caruthersville.
She was married to James G. Johnson Jan. 2, 1922 at Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1973. A son, James preceded her in death July 16, 1977. One brother and one sister also preceded her in death.
She is survived by six sons, Harvey, Gerald, Paul and Don of Caruthersville and William and Johnny of Kalamazoo, Mich.; four daughters, Nell Hinze of Caruthersville; Sara Fisher of Wewshitchks, Fla., Peggy Cutts of Vaelpariso Fla., and Joan Gossett of Sikeston; one brother, Albert Alford of Indiana; three sisters, Myrtle Jones of Caruthersville and Pauline Stout and Martha Terrett of Hayti; 26 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren.
