Edwin David Cooper, 84, of Sierra Vista died Tuesday, Jan 31.1989 at Sierra Vista Community Hospital.
Edwin Cooper was born Sept. 6, 1904, in Louisburg, Kan. He was a resident of Sierra Vista for 11 years. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Navy as a pipefitter aboard the USS Tawakoni. He saw action in Iwo Jima, LeShima and Leyte. He was a retired pipefitter and field manager with Southwest Gas Corp.
Mr. Cooper is survived by two brothers. Kenneth Cooper of Spring Hill, Kan.. and Jess Cooper of Green Valley: one son, Darrell Cooper of Diamond. Mo. three daughters, Joan K. Stevenson of Kingman, Bonna V. Cooper of Coolidge, Bonnie Bringolf of Wichita, Kan, eight grandchildren and five great children.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at Mission Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Cochise Memory Gardens with full military honors.
Officiating will be Rev. Shawn Norris. Visitation will be on Friday, Feb. 3, at 12:30 p.m. until the funeral service at 2p.m.
