CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

The children of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin R. Cooper planned and successfully carried out the celebration of their golden wedding anniverdary at their home in Bucyrus last Sunday, July 22, 1945. The couple were married at Romney, Va., July 24, 1895, and have lived in and around Louisburg most of their wedded life.

Those present for the family dinner at noon were thegests of honor, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Cooper, their sons and wives; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Cooper of Sunflower Village; Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Cooper, Guilford, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Jess Cooper, Lawrence, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cooper, near Bucyrus. The other son, Edwin, is on duty with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific.

Grandchildren present: Mrs. Jeannne Thomas and Lora Jane Cooper, Sunflower; Ellis T. Cooper, Jr.; Leona Cooper, Wayne Cooper and Byron Cooper of Guilford, Mo.; Janice Ann Cooper, Lawrence; Darrell Cooper, Paola; Hazel Cooper of near Bucyrus; and one great-granddaughter, Tracy Jane Thomas, Sunflower.

Four grandchildren unable to be present are: Joan Kay Cooper of Leoti, Kans.; Lieut. Dale W. Cooper, AAF, Smyrna, Tenn.; Lieut. Robert E. Cooper, USMCR, Cherry Point, N.C. and Pvt. Richard Cooper, AAF, Tucson, Ariz.

Afternoon callers included: Mr. Cooper's sister, Mrs. R. O. Whitaker, Bucyrus; Mr. Cooper's brother, J. D. Cooper and wife, Louisburg; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dodt and Marilyn, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sheehan with Gertrude and Lucille, Mrs. Elma Whitaker and Mrs. Art Knop, Bucyrus; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lindemood nd Lind, Joyce Crust, Kansas City; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Crawford, Spring Hill; Howard Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Williams, Homer Steger, Mrs. James Phillips and Mrs. E. J. Lovett of Louisburg; and Mr and Mrs. Oren Whitaker of Kansas City.

The afternoon was spent in visiting and taking pictures. Refreshments of punch and wafers were served.

Many beautiful and useful gifts and a host of cards were received by the bride and groom.
