David E. Barr, 82, died Friday, March 19, 2004, at his home. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. today at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with graveside services at 2 p.m. in Fairmont/Waco Cemetery in Mize.
Mr. Barr had lived in Brandon since 1979 moving there from Pearl. He was a member of Robin Hood Baptist Church. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He loved gardening and fishing. He was a retired painter and formerly worked with Chevron division of Standard Oil of California where he traveled throughout the West and Northwest.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles David Barr and grandson, Chris Barr.
Survivors include his wife, Frances V. Barr; sons, Billy G. and his wife, Betty Barr of Pearl and Kenneth and his wife, Elaine Barr of Brandon; daughter, Dot and her husband, Allen Stuart of Brandon; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
