John Jesse was the son of William M and Orpha Elizabeth James of Dalton, Arkansas. He lived most of his life in Randolph County Arkansas, but died while visiting his sister, Della James Reynolds, who he is buried near. The photo of Johnny (a dwarf) and his parents, was provided by a kind lady from Oklahoma, who is Della James Reynolds great-grandaughter. Still trying to identify others in photo.

It is possible that John Jesse Woodson James was named after the notorious outlaw Jesse Woodson James.
