Charles Louis Wesley "Wes" James, aged 83, well known retired farmer of Ravenden Springs, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs Gladys Smith, at Ravenden Springs, Sunday. He was born in that area Jan 24, 1875, a son of William Moses and Orpha Elizabeth Edwards James and had lived his lifetime in Randolph County. Funeral services were conducted at the Ravenden Springs Baptist church at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning by the Rev. Alvin Allison. Interment was in the White cemetery under the-direct¬ion of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas. He leaves three daughters, Gladys Smith, Perna James of Route One, Pocahontas and Nellie Coleman of Pocahontas; five sons William Arvil James and John Wesley James of Piggott, George Elmer James of Datto, Charles Earl James of Dalton, Remmel Harold James of Ravenden Springs; 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Della Reynolds of Perkins, OK.
