Mrs. Amelia Hampton

Amelia Phoebe Hampton was born March 1, 1854 near Warren, Ohio, to Andrew and Phoebe Rudesill and died at her home on Monday morning, May 31, at the age of 94 years and three months.

When thirteen years of age she came with her mother to New Centerville, making her home there until her marriage the Matthew Hampton on September 11, 1873. They made their home there and in Viking and Gilman until moving to Cady in 1903, where she spent the remaining years of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband and five children.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters, Chester of Eau Claire, Leona (Mrs. Alfred Helgeson) of Woodville, Maude (Mrs. Carl Rolstad), Leon and Jay of Spring Valley. Also sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Congregational church and took an active interest in church work until failing health forced her to discontinue it.

The pallbearers were here grandsons and one great-grandson, Alden and Wilfred Helgeson, John, Hugh, Glenn and Kent Hampton.

$103.75 was given to various organizations in her memory.
