Sunday afternoon, Oct. 24th at his home in the Town of Stanton, south of Downing, occurred the death of Sylvanus Rudesill, one of the oldest and best known settlers in this vicinity. He was 64 years of age, and the cause of his death was stomach trouble with which he had been a patient sufferer before the end came.

Mr. Rudesill settled in the town of Springfield, St. Croix county, at an early day, but later moved across the line into Dunn county. He was a man respected by all for his kindly ways and the upright life that he lived. Besides his wife, three children - Allen of Sault Ste. Marie, Amos of Minneapolis and Mary of Stanton, survive him.

The funeral was held Wednesday, Oct. 27th, the remains being taken to New Centerville, south of Baldwin the early home of Mr. Rudesill.
