Paris & Sada were married in the Methodist Church at Pine Creek, Montana. After attending Clintwood Normal College, Paris helped survey coal & timber land in Southwest, VA, and Eastern KY.
They lived on a farm in Montana before moving to Portland, OR, about 1920. Their home (at the base of and facing the Cascade Montain National Forest, rising abruptly there) showed the results of careful husbandry when EJS and Hetty had the pleasure of visiting them in 1962. Flanked on either side and at the back by a large sloping lot (producing an abundance of berries, fruits and vegetables in which both delighted). Their house was easily accessible from the street which was hew out of the mountainside, much the same as the roads of Southwest VA.
Other guests enjoying their hospitality and the delicious meal were Alta's brother, Bill, and his wife, Maxie (a cousin of Hetty); her sister, Elizabeth, and brother, Kenneth Ben; and Fred Wampler and his wife, Wilma Rasnick.
Paris was employed by the American Can Company. An expert marksman, he enjoyed big game hunting.
