He was a member of Airlee Court Baptist Church and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Claire H. Counts; one son, Dan G. Counts, Roanoke; one daughter, Mrs. Ellen C. Gillespie, Roanoke; one brother, Kilby Counts, Pulaski; one sister, Mrs. Effie Koehler, Roanoke.
Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, with the Rev. Eugene Burris officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel.
