He homesteaded in Woods County, Oklahoma in 1901 and farmed there since that ime. He moved to Alva, Oklahoma in 1943.
On January 1, 1913 in Alva, he was united in marriage to Mayme Gertrude Weber. Their home was blessed with five children, two sons and three daughters whom he loved and cherished.
He is preceded in death by one son, Orville James Collie in 1943, his parents, three brothers; Hugh in 1875, Roy in 1915 and Ralph in 1945, and three sisters; Jessie in 1944, Alice in 1904, and Bessie in 1940.
Survivors in addition to his wife, three daughters, Lucille, Ethel and Dollie and one son Arlo. Also a brother Don Collie, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
