Ralph Lester Collie was born August 31, 1888 on the homestead in Athens township Jewell County, Kansas. He was the son of James Collie and Susan M. Davis Collie. He was the sixth child of eight children He lived in Jewell County all his life.
On October 22,1911 he was united in marriage to Mamie A. Bailey of Ionia, Kansas to this union five children were born.
Ralph had been the county clerk of Jewell County for twelve years. He became an expert in tax matters and went beyond the call of duty in serving the public. He spent many hours assisting township and school districts officers in figuring budgets and making reports.
Ralph died June 30, 1945 in Kansas City.
