Mrs. William McSherry
Mrs. Mary S. McSherry, 71, Hanover, widow of William McSherry, died unexpectedly Saturday at 8:45 a.m. at her home.

She was born July 2, 1887, in Adams County, a daughter of the late Lewis and Catherine Livelsberger Groft, and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hanover. She was formerly employed by Penn Box Co., McSherrystown. Her husband died March 19, 1946.

Survivors are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Raymond Reck, Hanover; five step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren; f o u r brothers and two sisters, Clarence P. Groft, John Groft and Miss Corrine Groft, Hanover; Mrs. Curtis H. Smith, Edge Grove; Guy Groft, Hanover, and Leo Groft, McSherrystown.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Bucher Funeral Home, Hanover, followed by a requiem Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Hanover. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Charles E. Park, pastor, was celebrant. Burial was in Anniunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church Cemetery, McSherrystown.
