Henry George Groft, 46, a cutter in the Hanover Shoe company plants at Hanover, died suddenly Tuesday night about 11:30 o'clock (E.S.T) at his home at Edge Grove. Dr. Edgar A. Miller, Adams county coroner, was called to the home to determine the cause of death but , had not signed the death certificate up to early Wednesday afternoon.
Groft was stricken suddenly and died before the family physician could arrive. It is believed that a heart attack or acute indigestion may have been the cause of death, The deceased was a son of the late George Groft and, Catherine Livelsperger Groft, Edge Grove. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Hanover and McSherrystown and belonged to the ProgressiOn, of Faith of Conewago Chapel. ,
He is survived by his widow, the former Regina Sneeringer. and six children: Edgar, Mary Catherine, Anna Louise, Francis, John. and Cyril Groft, all at home. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. William McSherry. Bonneauville; Mrs. Curtis Smith, Edge Grove; John and Guy Groft, Hanover; Leo Groft, McSherrystown. and Clarence and Corine Groft at home.
Funeral services Saturday morning at 9 o'clock (E.S.T.) at Conewago Chapel with the rector, the Rev. Fr. John F. O'Donnell, officiating. Interment in Conewago cemetery,
