The Lord Jesus called Charles William Barnes home to Heaven on Saturday, September 7, 1991, where his loving wife, Wanda, who preceded him in death in 1987, was waiting with open arms. He was born in Haileyville, Indian Territory on April 29, 1907. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sunnylane United Methodist Church and a member of United Methodist Men's Club. He was retired from the Rock Island Railroad and started his second career in real estate in 1960 . He was past President of the Midwest City-Del City Board of Realtors and past Realtor of the Year. He was the first lay member of the Oklahoma Board of Accountancy and past member of the Del City Planning Commission.
He is survived by his son Charles H. Barnes and daughter-in-law Patty Barnes of Midwest City; his daughter, Mary Frances Evans of Del City; 2 grandchildren, Adam Evans and Charles McKeown Barnes; a brother, Carl Barnes of Oklahoma City; 3 sisters Ruth Barnes of Guthrie, Nora Hunt of Del City and Sudie Mae Conner of Sedona, AZ.
Services will be Tuesday, September 10, 1991, at Sunnylane United Methodist Church with Dr. Tom Harrison officiating. Burial will be at Sunnylane Cemetery.
