Deceased Name: Wanda McKeown Barnes
BARNES, Wanda McKeown went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ Dec. 13, 1987. She was born in Shamrock, OK May 20, 1924, a graduate of Cushing High School in 1942. She served with the US Government in Hawaii during WWII and retired from Tinker AFB in 1963. She was also a licensed real estate agent. Ceramics were her hobby. She succumbed to a long battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mary McKeown of Agra, OK and sister, Cassie Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Charles W. Barnes; her son, Charles Barnes and daughter-in-law, Patty, of Midwest City; her daughter, Frances Evans of Del City and the pride of her life, her grandchildren, Adam Evans and Charles McKeown Barnes. She is also survived by her twin sister, Wanita Walker of Okc, and sisters Jean Rankin of Sidney, NB, Mary F. Allen of Houston, TX.
In addition to this she had a wonderful sense of humor and never once complained.
Funeral services will be Tues. at the Sunny Lane United Methodist Church with a graveside service Tues. in Elmwood Cemetery, Hartshorne, OK under the direction of Paylor Funeral Home, 412 N. Air Depot Blvd., Midwest City, OK.
