Benjamin was born in Texas and lived in Tampa, Florida. He had epilepsy and was taken to the Florida State Hospital in January of 1925. While there he contracted TB and was transferred to the TB Unit. He lived at the hospital for 16 years, 7 months, 8 days. He was loved and missed by his family.
