Dean Allen Church, age 82, 245 Cash Hollow Road, Elizabethton died October 10, 2005 at James H. Quillen Veterans Administration Medical Center Hospital. A native of Heaton, NC he was the son of the late Lloyd and Emma Harmon Church. He was of the Baptist Faith and a retired employee of Paty Lumber Company as a truck driver. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #2166. Mr. Church was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Bare Church, in 1986, one brother, Dexter Church, two sisters, Thelma Morrison and Harleen Reed, one step granddaughter, Holly Proffitt. Survivors include, two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lisa Church, Kingsport, Randy and Donna Church, Emporia, KS, three grandchildren, Brandon Church, Kingsport, Becky Church, KS, Dena Church, KS, two step-grandchildren, Jamie Proffitt, Alpharetta, GA, Aaron Proffitt, Kingsport, three brothers, Tracy Church, Ernest Church, both of Johnson City, Robert Church, KY. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, October 13, at Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace with Rev. Delbert Storie officiating. Music will be under the direction of Sabrina Hess. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, from 6 p.m. until the service hour. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 14 at Taylor's Chapel Cemetery, Elk Park, NC. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home chapel on Friday at 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
