Ruby McCafferty, 82, of Stamford, died Monday, November 24 at Rice Springs Care Home in Haskell, TX. Funeral services were at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 26 at Kinney Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jesse Morton officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Cemetery directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
Born November 21, 1915 at Tuxedo, TX. she was a daughter of Walter C. and Mary Ellen Carlton. She married Robert Hoot on September 12, 1933, in Anson and they lived in Stamford where she was a clerk at Huston Hardware Store for 27 years. She later married Cecil McCafferty on June 17, 1961, at Odessa, TX., and he too, preceded her in death.
She was a cashier at the Cliff House Restaurant in Stamford for 8 years. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie Lee and Wayne Justiss of Canyon Lake, TX.; a son-in-law Johnny Lackey of Lubbock; a sister, Marjorie Rush of Casa Grande, Arizona; a brother, Norman Carlton of Hamlin; four grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Phillip Sturdevant, Glenn Sturdevant, Johnny Lackey, Wayne Justiss, Jason Mooney, and Robert Lackey.
