Funeral services for Catherine M. Konig, 68, of 805 Somerset St. Murphysboro, died at 9:55 pm Friday in St. Joseph Hospital in Murphysboro after a one year illness.
She was born Jan. 17 1906, to James and Katherine Puttman Gillooly.
Mrs. Kownig was a member of the Women of St. Andrews, the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary, the St. Joseph Hospital auxiliary, and the St. Andrews Catholic Church of Murphysboro.
She married Edward L. Koenig July 27, 1927 in Murphysboro. He died on Oct 20, 1968.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Perschbacher, Jean Etherton and Loretta Reiman, all of Murphysboro; a son Edward of Murphysboro; two sisters, Thelma Huppert and Mary King both of Murphysboro; two brothers. Gene of Makanda, and Robert of Murphysboro; and 15 grandchildren.
Burial will be in the St. Andres's Cemetery in Murphysboro.
