Mr. Koenig was born April 29, 1902, in DeSoto, the son of August and Louise Redo Koenig
He was married to Catherine Gillooly July 27, 1927, in Murphysboro.
Mr. Koenig was a member of Murphysboro Eagles.
He was a warehouse foreman for Daniel Grocery Co., Murphysboro.
He leaves his wife; daughters Mrs. James Perschbacher of Makanda, and Mrs. Rondell Etherton and Mrs. Teddy Joe Reiman, both of Murphysboro; a son Edward E. of Murphysboro; sisters, Mrs. Ben Koenig and Mrs. Eva Miller, both of Mulkeytown, and Mrs. Leonard Watkins and Mrs. Virgil Clutts, both of Murphysboro; brothers, William of Hot Springs, Ark., and Joe of Murphysboro; and 15 grandchildren.
A brother, tree sisters, and a grandchild proceded him in death.
Burial will be in St. Andrew's cemetery.
