Guy W. Campbell, son of James M. and Laura Campbell, was born March 11, 1888 and
passed to his reward April 26, 1934, at his home near Prescott. His entire life
has been spent in this community. On February 21, 1912, he was united in
marriage to Fern Pottinger.
Their children are Guy Junior, who died in infancy, Harold, Ronald, Dorothy and
Velma. Theirs has been a happy home. He was a devoted father and husband ever
concerned about the comfort of his family. Early in his life he accepted the
Christ as his guide, uniting with the Methodist church. He was ever careful
that the Christian life be maintained in his family. In the community he was
known as a friendly man, clean and upright, jovial, carrying sheer wherever he
went.
Besides his immediate family he leaves his father, James M. Campbell; the
brothers and sisters are Mrs. Williams and Mrs, Shoemaker of Winterset, Mrs.
Lois Hardesty of Carbon, Ray and Mrs. Gladys Cook of Prescott, and Roy of
Coming. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church,
conducted by Rev. W. H. Beers, pastor. The large number of people in attendance
at the service was a tribute of love and respect for one who was always kind and
considerate and stood high in the confidence and esteem of his neighbors,
friends and all who knew him best. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.
